Friday at Zenda. Friday Comics. On this occasion, Friday is devoted to The Stamford Hawksmoor Archive, one of the British artist Bryan Talbot‘s most recent works (Wigan, Lancashire, 1952), translated into Spanish by Óscar Palmer for the publisher Astiberri. A shining figure in the English underground comic scene of the 70s and 80s, Talbot became in the 90s a frequent illustrator for the DC franchise. In the final decades of his career, his interest in large-format work returned us to the extraordinary series Grandville, one of the most ambitious projects in contemporary comics. Working on a historical backdrop and with the tropes of the detective novel, Talbot continues here that fictional universe, further expanding an immensely prolific and stimulating imaginary world.
