The Robert H. Blackburn Distinguished Paper Award is named after Dr. R. H. Blackburn the first President of CACUL, the former Canadian Association of College & University Libraries, (1963-64), this award acknowledges notable research published by CLA members.

Guidelines:

  • the award is open to all CLA members;
  • submissions may be made by any member of CLA, including the author;
  • articles are to have been published during the previous calendar year in a peer-reviewed journal;
  • articles by joint investigators are eligible;
  • articles resulting from funded research are eligible.

Content:

  • articles should address a topic directly related to library studies or librarianship in a university or college environment;
  • the committee will take the following under consideration:
    • clarity in definition of research problem and methods;
    • significance of the conclusions drawn from the research

Please submit the following:

  • Name and Institution or Affiliation
  • CLA membership number
  • Full bibliographic information for the published article
  • Copy of published article (preferably electronic)
  • Comments (if desired)

Award / Presentation:

  • A cash prize of $200 will be given to the winner,and acknowledged in the CLA’s magazine Feliciter
