It is with regret that the Canadian Library Association announces the recent resignations of two Councilors-at-large. Lorna E. Rourke, Library Director, St. Jerome’s University and Marc Truitt, University Librarian, Mount Allison University Libraries have both tendered their resignations citing personal reasons as the cause.

Both Lorna and Marc have served in many capacities within the library community and on the 2014 CLA Executive Council this past year. They have contributed significantly in their role as councilors and we would like to thank both Lorna and Marc for all their work. We wish them both the best and much success going forward.

In light of the resignations, Executive Council is discussing what course of action should be taken to fulfill the term positions. No decisions have yet been made, however Executive Council is considering making appointments until the next election. Notification will be provided once a decision has been reached.

The Canadian Library Association / Association canadienne des bibliothèques is Canada’s largest national and broad-based library association, representing the interests of public, academic, school and special libraries, professional librarians and library workers, and all those concerned about enhancing the quality of life of Canadians through information and literacy.
