The Call of… Carlos Pardo

Carlos Pardo (Madrid, 1975) is a poet, novelist and one of the most personal voices in contemporary Spanish literature. The author of poetry volumes such as Echado a perder, Los allanadores and Los lugares, as well as novels such as Vida de Pablo and Lejos de Kakania, he has just published La comedia de la carne (La Bella Varsovia), a new book of poems in which he explores the contradictions of the human experience through writing that blends irony, reflection and intimacy.

In this new installment of La llamada, Carlos Pardo converses with Álvaro Colomer about the origins of his literary vocation, his first approaches to reading and writing and the discovery of poetry as a form of expression. A conversation that allows readers to glimpse the beginnings of his career and the concerns that led him to become a writer, as well as his relationship with the two genres he has cultivated throughout his career: poetry and narrative.

The interview is part of the «Diálogos online» that ACEC (Asociación Colegial de Escritores de Cataluña / Associació Col·legial d’Escriptors de Catalunya) organizes with the support of CEDRO.
